Our Quarterfinals are coming up, with 11 acts competing for a whopping £25,000 Sponsorship prize.

Whoever wins will have to work with their management to determine how best to spend the money to catapult their career to the next stage, and the possibilities are endless.

We spoke with top casting agent Jayne Collins to get an idea of the sort of costs involved in creating a future star, and we’ve put together a list of the kind of things that an aspiring performer might need to break into the big time. Obviously different types of performer will have different needs, which is why the £25,000 prize is so versatile.

Training in how to handle the media and journalists with tricky questions: £2,000 (4 x £500 classes)

A personal website to update your fans on your latest news: £3,500

PR consultation: £1,500

Gizmos to stay on top of your Twitter feeds and social networking updates: Blackberry/iPhone, laptop and printer: £3,000

Basic photo shoot (industry standard headshots): £500

Showreel (with existing footage): £1,000

Equipment/props/instruments: £5,000

Cool threads to look good when you get papped: £5,000

Professional advice on seeking representation and networking: £1,000

Visits to the salon: £2,000 (if extensions needed, could be up to £10,000 per year – Yikes!)

Your own personal assistant to take care of your diary, bank accounts, arrange meetings etc.: £500 per week

A super smart accountant to take care of all those boring taxes: £1,000 per year

Tour bus/car to get you from A to B: £13,000 per year (based on an electric Smart car)

Gym membership to keep you in trim: £1,100 per year

Stylist to work on your new image: £3,500 per session

Facials, manicures, pedicures (weekly) and waxing (monthly): £7,800 per year

Deportment training to keep you looking and acting your best: £200

Dancing, singing and acting lessons (one class of each per week): £21,000 per year

Intensive modelling photo shoot: £10,000

Demo recording/studio sessions: £3,000

Dance/rehearsal clothes: £1,500
