Web site story

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

No, you’re not having a deja vu! But yes, we have done this feature before. However, we thought we’d make it more of a regular item and bring you footage from our 1Click2Fame archives as often as we can.

So, this week we’ve had Tom look through the many videos that he’s filmed and edited and this one still managed to put a smile on our faces and gives us such precious memories of being back at the Turning Point Festival held at The Roundhouse in May last year. We took our first Performance Pod there and it was a huge hit, if we do say so ourselves. Have a watch as we meet London-based busker, Puncture Kit and convince him to have a go in the Pod.

Top of the Pods

Monday, November 30th, 2009

After 10 talent-packed days in Coventry, we’ve got 100’s of fantastic new performers on 1Click2Fame. Star Coach Stevie Lange, after a lot of video-watching, has chosen the top Pod spots, looking at song choice, vocal talent and performance – she was incredibly impressed by the general standard of talent in Coventry.

What does Stevie Lange think of the Pod?

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

Now we’ve told you about the awesome 1Click2Fame Performance Pod, which has currently landed outside Tesco in Coventry.

But then why would you take our word for it? We’re bound to say it’s awesome. Well, how about the word of a world-respected vocal coach who has worked with everyone from Def Leppard to Stevie Wonder, Robbie Williams and the Sugababes? Yeah, thought that might interest you.

Has the Performance Pod landed near you?

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

You know when you go to the supermarket for some milk and when you come back you’re Beyonce?

You don’t? Well clearly you haven’t experienced the 1Click2Fame Performance Pod yet.

The Pod landed in Coventry today and if you still don’t know what it is don’t worry, it doesn’t contain aliens here to force you to sculpt mashed potato (unless they’ve already booked a slot that is).

The easiest way to understand the Pod is to imagine if a recording studio mated with a karaoke booth and the offspring was genetically spliced with a luxury caravan.

With thousands of backing tracks and clever technology which allows you to appear in front of exciting video backgrounds, the pod lets you create your own unique performance and take it home, all for free.

Okay, so you may not be Beyonce or Bono quite by the time you settle down for an afternoon cup of tea and a hob-nob, but you will have your own professional looking video to share with family and friends, and we’ll put it up on 1Click2Fame for you too, so you’ll be in the running to win £100,000. Not too shabby eh?

If you live in the Coventry area, or are willing to ride the iron horse to get there, then the pod is outside Tesco in the Arena Shopping Park for the next 10 days. You can book a slot by clicking here, or simply turn up – you might even meet one of the 1Click2Fame team there. We’re giving out free downloads from Tesco Entertainment there too, so there’s something for everyone.

If Coventry is a stretch too far for you don’t fret – the pod will be going on tour soon enough and it may well land in a town near you.

The winner's Speech

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

If we were betting men and women here at 1Click2Fame towers we would be swimming in a pool of pound coins, Scrooge McDuck-style, today.

This is because when it came to the Mercury Music Prize this year our (hypothetical) money was on understated South London rapper Speech Debelle. speech_debelleWe know what you’re thinking (we’re very Derren Brown like that): “It’s all very well saying that you were backing the winner after the event, but you’re just bandwagon jumping like everyone else who had never heard of her.”

Well, and there’s a slight pause here while we smugly brush an invisible fleck of dust from our lapels, Speech is already a familiar face to us here at 1Click2Fame. Earlier this year we sponsored the Turning Point Festival at Camden’s Roundhouse, and there, sitting innocuously on the bill, was Miss Debelle, taking one of her first steps towards Mercury stardom.

We didn’t just sponsor the event though, oh no that’s not our style, we were there with the first ever outing of our Performance Pod, and a quick browse of our site reveals a lot more talent we recorded on the day just waiting for you to discover them. So what are you waiting for? Get browsing, get clicking, and next year you could be saying: “Oh, they won the Mercury Music Prize did they? I’ve been a fan ever since they were on 1Clcik2Fame…”

1Click2Fame Performance Pod

1Click2Fame Performance Pod at V Festival

Headliners Oasis may have pulled out of V Festival but judging by the talent in the 1Click2Fame Performance Pod, the Festival didn’t need them.  Those lucky enough to experience Virgin Media’s Louder Lounge belted out their own unique versions of Cigarettes and Alcohol, Roll With It and Wonderwall, with varying degrees of talent but heaps of enthusiasm. Check out the performances on www.1click2fame.com later this week – do any of them live up to Oasis?!

The Pod was in the Louder Lounge where the sun was shining, the music blaring and the celebs a-partying. We spotted Rupert Grint of Harry Potter fame, pink-welly-wearing Kaya Scodelario from hit show Skins and ITV’s Holly and Dermot enjoying the fun, as well as singers Beverley Knight, Charlotte Church, Girls Aloud’s Kimberley and Natalie Imbruglia. Will Young even gave the Pod a go, featuring in friend India Standing’s video and showing off some smooth moves!

As one hyper festival-goer squealed as she emerged from the Pod, happily waving a USB featuring her performance of Madonna’s Vogue, “I just can’t believe you can do this in a field!” Well Amanda, you can,  and all thanks to our intrepid, revolutionary, touring Pod. Want to give it a go? Keep an eye on the blog for more news on our amazing Pods, coming soon to somewhere near you….
