The Drama Unfolds. . .

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

With Boot Camp being a not-so-distant memory now, it was a case of “business as usual” as we all arrived back at the 1Click Towers today.

Yesterday was another exciting and busy day for three of our Quarterfinalists as JUiCE, Hollie McKinlay and Nena Kubu stepped inside Stevie Lange’s Studios. It was a long day of vocal warm-ups, breathing exercises and hitting the right notes as each competitor was put through their paces by Stevie and her team of producers.

And let us not forget our other Quarterfinalists! Last week we took Boot Camp to them as 1Click favourite, Louise Stokes, had a one-to-one session with stand-up comedian Gary Delaney in her hometown of Birmingham, whilst Munks had lessons with Tae Kwon Do instructor, Alan Sparks in York.

You can catch up with all the latest news and see our photos from Boot Camp on our Facebook Page. We’ll leave you with some behind-the-scenes footage from the last couple of days; watch as the “drama” unfolds!

Music Boot Camp: Day 1

Monday, March 1st, 2010

We’re here at Boot Camp 3 and what a busy day it has been so far.

Ayda, KKV91, The Angel of Music and Sarah Duce all rolled up to Stevie Lange’s Studios bright and early this morning to get their sessions underway. The four girls started off with a group session with Star Coach Stevie, followed by an individual session to improve on their performances which are currently being recorded now. We are all sitting in the Green Room listening to each performer belt out their chosen tracks. We won’t give it away just yet, you’ll have to wait and see what our competitors have delivered when our 3rd Quarterfinal begins at the end of this month.

We will be updating you soon with some behind-the-scenes footage from Boot Camp. For now, you can follow all the latest news on our Twitter feed. You can also @1Click2Fame us with any questions or messages you have for our Quarterfinalists. Let us know!

Tomorrow will be the 2nd day of the Music Boot Camp. Watch this space as Nena Kubu, JUiCE and Hollie McKinlay have their turn inside the studio…

Quarterfinal 3 Commences

Friday, February 26th, 2010

We’ve hit a double milestone here at 1Click. Not only has our last monthly final finished today but we are officially launching our 3rd and last Quarterfinal also. Yes, we’re all pretty excited here as the tension and excitement builds towards Boot Camp and the competition. Over the last 3 months, you have been voting for your favourite acts in the hope of seeing them reach their goal of winning the Monthly Finals, meeting the 1Click2Fame Star Coaches and competing for a whopping £25k sponsorship prize.

Who are these rising stars? Well, we’re glad you asked…

DECEMBER

First to make it to Quarterfinal 3 were December’s winners; trickster Munks, Pod Princess Sarah Duce and her with the “many faces,” Louise Stokes.

JANUARY

January’s Top 3 were singing sensation KKV91, celebrity spoofers Him and Me TV and the all-talented Hollie McKinlay.

And now let’s introduce you to this month’s finalists. Fresh from battling out in February’s Finals are…

JUiCE – This pop band made their way to the top of the chart with their brilliant cover of Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance.” They even created their own mini campaign by making their own appeal video.

The Angel of Music – Poppy has the voice of an angel so we feel the name is very fitting.

Nena Kubu – This 5-piece band from Doncaster impressed the judges with their mix of modern dance music and 80’s popular music.

The final 3 to make it to the Quarterfinals are the Wildcards as chosen by our Star Coaches. They are the amazingly talented Ayda, the girl with the moves B-Girl Lyra and Football Freestyler, AR.

WILDCARDS

Remember these faces, as you will be seeing a lot more of them over the next few weeks, as we prepare for Quarterfinal 3. But first, it’s Boot Camp, where our performers will be giving their all to win your votes. For all the behind-the-scenes action and excitement, keep watching this space…

February's Final is here!

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

This month’s Final is slightly different from all of the other finals we’ve had. The reason for this is because it is the LAST monthly final before we go into our LAST Quarterfinal before we hold our Annual Grand Final! Yes, it’s pretty exciting times here and with Bootcamp plans already underway, 3 more competitors will have the chance to be put through their paces to propel them to the next stage on their road to fame, not to mention a professional video shoot too.

So here are the Final 12 for February, as voted by you lovely lot:

Stephen Cullis – Stephen recently joined 1Click2Fame and has shot up the charts almost overnight. His self-penned song “Rainbows” has proved to be very popular with our judges on the site.

JUiCE – This 4-piece band from Preston say that their music is influenced by Busted, McFly and Paramore. Their upbeat sounds are sure to get your feet tapping and maybe some mouses clicking too!

Also joining these 2 are the all-time favourites and contenders from this quarter; Hollie McKinlay, The Angel of Music, Sarah Duce, Nena Kubu, The Many Faces of Louise Stokes, KKV91 and Thea Kate. The Wildcard Choices, as chosen by our Star Coaches, are The Management, Soul Mover and Kyle Newton.

So there we have it. We’ll leave it up to you to decide who you want to vote for! Voting ends this Thursday, so get clicking and you could change someone’s life. Click here for the chart page and to cast your vote.

The winner takes it all

Monday, February 15th, 2010

Whilst Simon Cowell’s false promises of Christmas number one have been disillusioning X-Factor contestants since 2004, here at 1Click2Fame we do stick to our promises, as 1Click competitor, Tom Andrews, found out when he bagged himself a music video shoot with London’s award-winning production company, Flynn.  Tom met with top producers to discuss the setting, theme and even casting for the video.  They then set about the shoot at an Islington warehouse and finished with a pretty smart looking video to accompany his song ‘Carry me on.’  Not bad for an afternoon’s upload and a couple of friends clicking on a thumbs-up!

Now, we know what you’re thinking, “I want to have my own music video. I want to sing in an Islington warehouse whilst playing my guitar!”* Worry not loyal 1Clickers. You too can have this great opportunity but there’s not much time! The February Finals are fast approaching and this will be your last chance to win this amazing prize, not to mention securing a place in our Quarterfinal, before we head into our Annual Grand Final.

So what are you waiting for? Upload your performance, get those all-important votes in and maybe, just maybe, you can give Beyonce a run for her money and have one of the best videos of all time (of ALL time).

In the mean time, you can check out Tom Andrew’s official music video for “Carry Me On” here.

* We read minds. It’s kind of our thing, it’s what we do.

First winner of 2010!

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

You’ve all been clicking away everyday to see your favourite act make an epic climb to the top of the chart. So much so, that your mouse is starting to look abit under the weather.

But, worry not, 1Click friend, your efforts have not gone unnoticed. We’ve counted up all the votes and here is where your contribution lies:

Sarah Duce – It’s a good start to the new year for our Pod Princess Sarah as she walks away with the top prize of a professional recording shoot with top production company Flynn. We spoke to Sarah and here is what she had to say: Sarah Duce

“I’ve had so much support from my family and friends so I would like to say a big thank you to all of them. I’ve had people voting for me in the Isle-of-Man, so it’s great to see the support. It’s a great start to the new year, thank you!”

Sarah came out in 2nd place last month, which already secured her a place in our 3rd and last Quarterfinal before we head into our Annual Final. So joining her will be the 2nd, 3rd and 4th place competitors of this month: Kkv91, Himandmetv and Hollie McKinlay.

These talented lot will be heading over to our Boot Camp in March where they will be given tips and training from our Star Coaches.

January's Final kicks off!

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Gather round my peoples. We have 12 top acts that have been voted in by you and they’re ready to battle it out for the top prize of a professional video shoot.

The top 3 also make it to our last Quarterfinal before we go into our Annual Final. So, this is your chance to vote for who you would like to see put through their paces at our Boot Camp. Here’s the rundown for who is in this month’s running (in no particular order, of course):

Jack Martello – 21-year-old Jack hails from Kent and since he joined 1Click2Fame, has been campaigning for votes through Twitter and Facebook. We’re sure he’ll be pulling out all the stops for this month’s final.

The Angel of Music – Poppy Mills is only 12 years old but don’t let that deceive you. Her voice is exactly that of an angel’s and has been a favourite on the site since she joined.

Nena Kubu – This 5-piece band from Doncaster are no strangers to the monthly finals. We share their love for La Roux and Calvin Harris, so here’s hoping their 80’s inspired tracks will get them to the top of the chart.

Sarah Duce – When 16-year-old Sarah stepped into our Performance Pod we knew she’d be an instant hit. Her rendition of “Think of Me” from The Phantom of the Opera is enough to give anyone chills.

The Many Faces of Louise Stokes – Comedienne Louise has always been a big hit on the site and has already gone through a number of monthly finals and the first Boot Camp. She’s still determined to make it to the top of the charts and she needs your votes to get her there.

Kkv91 – Kulpreet has a large following on YouTube, with over 30,000 subscribers to her channel and an oh so sweet voice such as hers, we can understand why she’s so popular.

Thea Kate – At only 13 Thea is already a singing sensation, and she’s hoping you can help her run up the charts against all odds.

Chris Gunn – Chris is a 16-year-old video maker. He describes himself as a “technical person” and even has his own website where he gives reviews and tutorials on all things gadgetry. We think he might be Inspector Gadget.

Hollie McKinlay – 15-year-old Hollie from Essex is a singer, dancer and actress, plus, she plays the guitar and piano! Surely that’s enough for anyone to make it to the top of the chart?!

And finally, we come to the Wildcard choices as chosen by Stevie Lange, Kate Prince and Jayne Collins. They chose these lucky lot who will be joining the others in the battle for the top spot:

Him and Me TV – This comedy duo recently headlined our first comedy night and they went down a storm. It’s no wonder Jayne Collins saw potential in them saying she found them “absolutely hilarious.”

The Management – “Good vocals and great harmonies” were the words used by Stevie Lange to describe this 3-piece girl band.

Love Dance – Kate loved the “flow of his choreography” and we were pretty impressed too.

So there we have it. We’ll leave it up to you to decide! Voting ends this Thursday, so get clicking and you could change someone’s life. Click here for the chart page and to cast your vote.

And the biggest stocking goes to…

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

Our December Final has been a very tense and exciting last-minute bout between our 12 competitors.

Whilst we were very excited to see the top three positions continuously swap places, we eventually had to close the competition and we’re very happy to reveal who the Top 3 Finalists are and who will be making it to the 3rd Quarterfinal and 1Click2Fame Boot Camp.

Here’s who you voted for:

Munks

Trickster, Munks, flew into the top of the charts and scooped the prize of the professional video shoot with top production company, Flynn.  Thanks to his diet of Coke and Mars Bars, Munks has been flying off walls and doing flips and tricks since the tender age of 4! He describes his style of tricking as a “mix between martial-arts and gymnastics.” We just think he’s Spiderman.

Sarah Duce

16-year-old Sarah stepped into our Pod when it launched in Coventry and sang her heart out to “Think of Me” from The Phantom of the Opera. We were all pretty impressed by Sarah’s voice, even our Star Coach Stevie Lange picked her as a favourite from the site. Sarah is currently busy starring in the pantomime version of “Jack and the Beanstalk” where she is playing a fairy. “Oh yes she is.”

The Many Faces of Louise Stokes

This is somewhat of a deja vu for Louise as she has already ‘been there, done that’ in Quarterfinal 1. She has always been a popular favourite on the site and is more than ready to battle it out again in Quarterfinal 3 for her chance to win the £25,000 sponsorship prize.
